3pm-5pm
Rensing Center
1165 Mile Creek Road, Pickens, SC 29671
Our February focus will be Greener Landscapes: Conservation and Healing our Land and Beyond with our dear friend Jon Fritz. A program presenting concepts and tips to reduce our carbon footprint, make the most of our local resources, and boost biodiversity in our yards and community.
At the Rensing Center, we are focused on the creative thinking that will help to alleviate our climate crisis. Come join us every third Sunday of 2020, from 3 to 5 in the Rensing Center’s library as we discuss climate solutions, community building, personal resourcefulness and economic ingenuity. Based on Paul Hawken’s scientifically and internationally sourced project Drawdown. Regional subgroups are working on several Drawdown sectors — Electricity Generation, Food, Land Use, Women & Girls, Buildings & Cities, Transport, and Materials. Rensing will offer a sewing club to encourage textile awareness and skills. Green Architecture is a vital focus, as is solar energy.
Our aim is to empower individuals and to inspire community based actions. Our monthly gatherings will be focused on specific topics guided by friends knowledgeable in each field. As we inform and encourage each other, we’ll target solutions to the urgent, but solvable, problems we’re currently facing. Snacks and tea/coffee will be offered. We look forward to seeing you there!
